What is FlashNote?

FlashNote is a music education app that helps students learn to read sheet music through interactive lessons, games, and practice tools. It is available as a web app and an Android app.

What data we collect

• Email address — collected via Google Sign-In to create and identify your account.
• App activity — lesson progress, scores, streaks, XP, gems, and settings preferences, stored to provide core app functionality.
• User-generated content — compositions created in the song composer and display names.
• Push notification tokens — if you enable practice reminders, we store a device token to deliver notifications.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, financial information, or browsing history. Microphone input is processed in real-time on your device and is never recorded or sent to our servers.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide app functionality — tracking your progress, saving your settings, delivering push notifications, and enabling social features like leaderboards. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

Data sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third parties. Your data stays on our servers and is only used to operate FlashNote.

Data security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Your account is authenticated with secure, signed tokens.

Data deletion

You can request account deletion from the app's Settings screen. After requesting deletion, there is a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel by logging back in. After 7 days, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted.

Children's privacy

FlashNote is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
